For Parents: Hot Buttons
Parents, aren't there some conversations you dread...maybe because you're just not sure how to start them. Or how to plant the right seeds and information for your kids to make the right decisions. Or maybe you're overwhelmed by all the land mines we have to navigate with our kids.
In the Hot Buttons series, Nicole O'Dell has written a series of books that address the big issues with scriptural wisdom and the information to equip us with the information to have those conversations. Avoidance isn't the recipe for success. So let's open these books and get started with parenting our tweens and teens.
The Sexuality Edition addresses issues like Purity, birth control, and other issues while then giving strategies for success.
She wants to date, but she's too young. He finds himself falling for his girlfriend's best friend. She's being verbally abused by her boyfriend. He wants to get physical but she doesn't. How do you equip your teen to deal with these and other issues that will come up? We all want to think that it won't happen to our kids, but that's not true.
What about when she gets a friend request from a complete stranger. He clicks a link that brings him to a dirty website. She posts a picture online to feel popular. He wants to meet up with guys from a chat room. How do you address those?
Parenting is a hard job. These books are a great tool to help us work through these tough issues that we can't ignore. If we're going to be the parents our teens need, grab these books and let a mom walk you through the tough discussions so that your kids will be prepared when it's time.
